A1 is the name of a unique material, specially designed for the manufacturing of hooks. This material contains components as Tungsten and Vanadium. For hook manufacturing this is an absolute unique combination. Whenever hooks are being produced with this kind of material, these hooks automatically get 20% stronger - fishermen can now pick smaller hooks for the same goals. Smaller  hooks offer a better baitpresentation and besides that, smaller bait can be used. Important detail is that a smaller and lighter hook is thinner than the conventional hooks which causes a faster penetration and less damage of the bait. A1 hooks are very durable even when a larger fish is hooked. The A1 hooks are 25% tougher than conventional hooks! A tougher hook will keep a sharper point for a longer time. Damages due to sand or rocks now belong to the past. Also a very important fact is that these hookpoints penetrate tough parts easier due to the hardness of the point. The new Gamakatsu A1 hooks offer the fisherman 100% more confidence because the hooks live twice as long. The A1 hooks are 100% better resistant against abrasion so the fisherman doesn't have to worry anymore the hook won't be sharp after cathing a fish.
